RSS and Atom sources
Validate your feed sources, keep them in one list
Sosyalasistan actually reads the RSS or Atom address you enter before saving it: it validates the format and shows the feed title and how many items it currently returns.
Adding a source takes three steps
All three happen on the feeds screen in your panel.
-
Enter the address
Paste your RSS or Atom address. Sosyalasistan reads it and tells you right away whether it is a valid source.
-
Name the source
If validation succeeds the feed's own title is filled in for you. Type the name you want to see in the list and save.
-
Keep it in your list
The saved source appears in your feed list; you can rename it or remove the record.
Checks that run before a source is saved
The address passes four gates before it enters your list.
-
Format validation
If the root element is not RSS, Atom or RDF the source is not saved, and the error message tells you which step failed.
-
Guarded fetch
The address is fetched through a single guarded client: only http and https are accepted, requests to internal network addresses are blocked and the download size is capped.
-
Sealed XML parsing
The source is parsed with external entity resolution turned off, and addresses carrying a username or password are rejected up front.
-
Company-scoped visibility
Sub-users only see the sources of companies they are granted, and a record cannot be moved to a company outside that grant.
Approval layer
Nothing goes live until you approve it.
- By default nothing is published automatically — drafts land in the approval queue.
- Filter out topics you don't want before they enter.
- Preview the last 3 items before saving.
- A single emergency-stop toggle; rules are not deleted.
Frequently asked questions
-
Which feed formats are supported?
RSS 2.0, Atom and RSS 1.0 (RDF). The address must be http or https and at most 2048 characters long. -
Does adding a source share its items automatically?
Yes. New items from your source are shared automatically on the social media accounts you select. -
Why was my address rejected?
The four most common reasons: the address is not http or https, it contains a username or password, the source returned a status other than 200, or its body is not valid XML. -
Can I add the same source twice?
No. If you try to add an address that is already registered on your account you are warned at the validation step.
